SMASH (Smanisda English Championship) is an annual championship held by the English Federation of SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. This championship provides an opportunity for Indonesian high school and college students to test and enhance their creativity, critical thinking, and speaking skills.Building upon last yearโs theme, which explored the captivating world of Norse mythology, This year, SMASH takes inspiration from one of the most renowned figures in Greek mythologyโHercules. Known for his unmatched strength, resilience, and defiance against impossible odds, Hercules symbolizes the spirit of revolution. His legendary Twelve Labors were more than just feats of strength; they were trials that challenged his mind, willpower, and ability to overcome adversity.Much like Hercules, participants in this yearโs SMASH competition will embark on their own intellectual and rhetorical trials, proving their mastery of speech and debate in the face of formidable challenges. Just as Hercules' labors paved his path to immortality, this competition offers a stage for participants to forge their own legacyโthrough logic, persuasion, and the power of words.
This year's SMASH competition will feature prestigious event: "Open Debate Competition." Participants will have the chance to challenge their intellectual and oratory skills while engaging with the rich tapestry of Greek mythology.We hope this yearโs theme and competitions will inspire participants to gain new insights, embrace different perspectives, and embark on an unforgettable journey of learning and self-discovery.With this theme, SMASH 2025 becomes more than just a competitionโit is a test of perseverance, strategy, and transformation.
